What is a deciliter?

A deciliter (dL) is a unit of volume in the metric system equal to one-tenth of a liter. It is commonly used to measure liquids and is equivalent to 100 milliliters or 0.1 liters. Deciliters are often used in cooking recipes and for measuring small amounts of liquids such as water, milk, or oil.

To give a sense of perspective, a standard can of soda typically contains around 35 deciliters of liquid. Deciliters are a convenient unit of measurement for smaller quantities of liquids, as they provide a more precise measurement than larger units such as liters or gallons.
